The South African Revenue Services (SARS) has published the draft Customs Control and the draft Customs Duty Bills, copies of which are attached for your reference, for comment. The closing date for comments for both is 26 February 2010.

SACCI wishes to prepare views on the drafts, and has thus scheduled three meetings during which they will be considered.

The proposed dates for the meetings are:
Friday     29 January 2010          10h00 - 12h00
Monday  08 February 2010         14h00 - 16h00
Monday 15 February 2010          14h00 - 16h00
 
While it may not be necessary to meet on each occasion, it is believed necessary to make provision for such an eventuality. Conversely, it may be necessary to meet on additional dates, but this can be determined at a later stage.

Documentation will be forwarded to participants prior to the meetings.

SACCI Welcomes participation in the working group by all direct members and their nominated affiliates.
