ATA CARNET
Speed through customs with your passport for goods
The ATA Carnet is an international customs document that permits duty-free temporary import of goods for up to one year. The initials “ATA” are an acronym of the French and English words “Admission Temporaire / Temporary Admission.”
ATA Carnets are used for the duty-free temporary import of commercial samples, professional equipment and goods for presentation or use at trade fairs, show, exhibitions and the like.

ATA CARNET REGULATIONS UPDATES
- Visitors to Israel - Please Note:
When importing WIRELESS equipment into Israel, please note that only the following equipment is accepted:
- Cellular phones included in the list published from time to time by the Israeli Ministry of Communications
- Computerised communication equipment at 2.4GHz only
- GPS receivers that measure geographical location
In order to obtain the relevant approval for any import of broadcast or communication wireless equipment of any type that has not been detailed above, you should apply to the Israeli Ministry of Communications
- Chile:
As at 1 October 2005, implementation of the ATA Carnet System will include CHILE. According to resolution N5673 dated December 21, 2004, the National Customs Service has approved the Santiago Chamber of Commerce as the national guaranteeing and issuing organization.
- All Chilean Customs offices are entitled to handle ATA Carnets during opening hours.
- ATA Carnets are accepted for postal traffic.
- ATA Carnets are accepted for transit
- ATA Carnets are not accepted for unaccompanied goods
